Background and Aim: Sexual satisfaction is an important part of well-being of women; therefore, identifying the factors that affect it is necessary. The present study aims to investigate the role of individual characteristics as predictors of sexual satisfaction in women.
Methods: In this descriptive-correlation study, statistical population was all of the married women who lived in area 7 of Mashhad. 200 women were selected by available sampling method. In this study, women sexual satisfaction questionnaire and demographic characteristics questionnaire were used. Also the data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis by used SPSS software.
Results: Findings indicate that correlation coefficients between individual characteristics including age, age disparity, marriage time length, number of children and education with sexual satisfaction were significant (p<0.01). Stepwise multiple regression analyses yielded of the five independent variables, only two variables of education and age disparity found permit entry into the regression equation (P<.0001).
Conclusion: Findings indicate the important of individual characteristics as predictors of women sexual satisfaction. Also, considering the two variables of education and the age disparity, were recommended in examining the sexual incompatibility.
