Physical activity improves students' academic performance by improving physical and mental health, reducing stress and increasing concentration. Research indicates that participation in organized sports activities is associated with better grades, and most studies have confirmed a positive relationship between physical activity and academic achievement. This effect depends on the type, duration and intensity of the activity with regular and long-term activities being more beneficial, while high-intensity activities can have negative effects. The results of the present study showed that providing sports facilities and educating students about the importance of exercise at universities could improve academic performance.
